Description
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk.

Description
The Prevent Suicide Hawai‘i Taskforce (PSHTF) is the state’s major public-private collaborative of over 150 members specifically focusing on suicide prevention. PSHTF members provide leadership, set goals and objectives, develop strategies, coordinate activities, and monitor the progress of suicide prevention efforts in Hawai‘i. In addition, an email list is maintained for the PSHTF. Examples of information that is shared through the email listserv are: agendas of upcoming meetings; minutes of past meetings; notices of future meetings and conferences; and local and national information shared by PSHTF members and the Department of Health Suicide Prevention Coordinator.

As Hawaii Island’s leading provider of inpatient and outpatient care, Hilo Benioff Medical Center delivers a full range of services and programs on our 20-acre campus. Hilo Benioff Medical Center is licensed for 166 beds for acute care and 45 beds for long-term care. We have 1,500 employees and a medical staff comprised 250 community physicians, physician assistants and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, representing 33 specialties. Our network of primary and specialty care clinics have expanded over the last three years and are being managed under the East Hawaii Health Clinics. The hospital is a Level III Trauma Center which includes the second busiest emergency room in the state that provides 24-hour care to more than 55,000 patients annually.
